Photo Dump

I've been pretty busy lately, working, and spending a lot of time outside. Here are a few photos from the past week.

Feeling a little domestic...but now that Nathan is gone for work all week I have to eat these by myself. Not the best move.

Bella peed her bed when she was being doggie sat the last time, which is totally weird, but here she is in her new comfy nest.

Ahhh the feeling of the sun and the water. Tan me!

Pool party for Nathan's robotics kids.

Nathan doing what he does best, cooking up some tasty grub.

I had to capture this nastiness in all its glory. Its love bug season here in Florida, this year seems to be the worst I've ever seen it. Solid pile of bugs right there. yeah. Vomit.

It's been a while since I've been to a High School graduation. Nathan is a mentor for the Cocoa High Robotics club, we came to cheer them on as they walked across the stage.

We were really saving this thing for the next pool party, but we couldn't wait to blow it up to see how big it actually was. Biggest. Beach ball. Ever!

Right before the 90º weather came our way, we had a cool 70º day. It has been 2.5 years since we've gone mountain biking. Ever since I had my last major seizure to be exact. It was wonderful to get back out on the trails and feel the breeze. What an adrenalin rush, not to mention a total body workout. I wish we lived closer to some trails and didn't have to drive and hour to get there.

So yeah, there you go....a day in the life I guess. I'm not good at telling amazing stories, or writing beautiful poetry, but I love to take pictures of random moments in time. I think photos tell their own sort of story.

Baseball

Thursday evening we discovered that the Brevard Manatees were playing and that it was the opening night of the minor league season. It had been almost a year since we've been to our last game and the weather was just too perfect of an opportunity to go.

We were surprised to find out that when we got to the ticket booth that this game was actually free! Also with $2 beers! It was a lot of fun and I hope we have the opportunity to go again before it gets too hot to go.

Our neighborhood

I just want to share a few photos with you from my neighborhood while walking the dog this morning.

It's hard to distinguish between seasons here in Florida because it's either warm or really f@"$ing hot! One thing that reminds me that spring is approaching are the flowering trees. Here are a couple that I saw today.

What's blooming in your neighborhood?

Mardi Gras

Last night we headed to cocoa village for some dinner and drinks. We had no idea it was "mardi gras" down there! Needless to say we had a great night. Things like this won't happen once we become pregnant, and we both know this. We are taking full advantage while we still can.

A sweet band at Murdock's. They played some surf rock jams and some reggae.

Mardi Gras parade!!! This pirate ship float was definitely my favorite. We also found the secret entrance so we didn't have to pay. Score!

After the parade we caught a blues band. They were probably the best live blues band that I've ever seen! And check out this killer bass...just beautiful!

We had a great night with great people!

Retail Therapy

Yesterday was a gorgeous day to get out of the house, and what better way than to go shopping! There's something wonderful about retail therapy don't ya think?  My intentions were to go get a smoothie from Planet Smoothie, which I did, and then spend time in Charming Charlies. This is a new store that opened at The Avenues in Viera, and if you don't know what this store is ladies, you have to find one in your area, YOU WILL DIE....its that amazing. Accessories galore organized by color. It will take you an hour to look through the entire store. The best part is that it is inexpensive and quality work. Here's a couple images courtesy of google.

I didn't want to go overboard so I talked myself into putting two necklaces back and only getting one, and a couple headbands. I'm obsessed with headbands, and big bold jewelry right now.

Here are just a few random shots from outside, it was a gorgeous day. I wore a tank, skirt and flip-flops. I think it was around 75! Spring is right around the corner.

I also managed to pick up a couple deals from Old Navy for the mister and I.

I can't get away from olive green no matter how hard I try. There's a strange gravitational
pull between the two of us. I hate love it.

In other news...big plans for the weekend. The girls and I are going to the Cuban Cafe tonight for dinner, and to pound some mojitos. Haha. Then, BEACH on Saturday.

528 Bridge

This might be a boring post for some of you since you don't live here, but it's affecting my life, so I must blog. Last weekend there was a crash on the 528 bridge. (a mile from my house)

To those that are not familiar let me give you the low down. I live on and island, and there are only a couple bridges to get back to the mainland (Cocoa). 528, the one closest to my house is one of them, the others being 520 & 405.  This crash I speak of wasn't just any crash..it was between a truck and a tanker truck. The ones that carry gasoline. This is what it looked like.

It is a sad deal because two people lost their lives. It is also a royal pain in the ass for the rest of us, especially in North Merritt Island. If I want to go to the grocery store or to any other place for that matter, I have to drive a distance out of my way and there is crazy traffic EVERYWHERE. Looooong lines of traffic. Now that the fireball is out this is what is left of the bridge.

This is my life for the next month:
