Who is "Sisters Four"?

We are four women - very individual, yet closely connected. We are scattered throughout a decade and yet measure within an inch...if we stand up straight. We have many similarities, but also many differences.

We each have thoughts and opinions, from our heads and from our hearts. We'd like to share some of those here.

We are sisters. Four of us.

Welcome to our blog.

Easily Seduced

I am easily seduced by food. Even as I flip through a cooking magazine to choose, say, the short ribs with sun-dried tomato gravy, I'm watching a cooking show where Barefoot Contessa is making a roast beef sandwich with truffle butter and I'm torn. Two delectable lovers stand before me and I cannot choose. I want them both, and if I choose either one I will surely end up craving the other.

What's a girl to do?

A friend was telling me today about how wonderful her boyfriend is and how much she loves him, but doesn't feel about him the way she felt about her ex - who would take her back if she'd have him. And such is her dilemma, whether to go back to her passionate first love, who comes with a roller coaster of emotions, or settle in with a stable man who she has grown to love.

How do we choose what to eat every day, what we crave or what we have a taste for? What's just a momentary fling versus a recipe that stands the test of time? Who would have guessed that a simple spicy spinach pesto could woo me week after week, but the promising Ethiopian chicken would fall flat? And every once in a while I remember the summer I ate breakfast couscous every day, I couldn't get enough, and now it hardly seems worth the effort. But damn it was good at the time. I couldn't have predicted that roasted broccoli was impressive enough to introduce to my parents, or that roasted tomatoes would have my friends talking. The only thing they all might complain about in the end, is that I won't just settle down already with all the recipes I've collected rather than running around with new ones all the time. But I'll distract them with some homemade butter pecan ice cream on a slice of oatmeal cake. They can be seduced too.

I swear this pesto is better than any basil pesto. Giada's version has arugula but I prefer just spinach which is less bitter. Get a good olive oil for this, it contributes at least half the flavor.

Spinach Pesto (Adapted from Giada's Fusilli with Spicy Pesto on foodnetwork.com)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
  • 1 (2-inch long) red or green jalapeno pepper, stemmed and coarsely chopped* see Cook's Note
  • 2 cups grated (4 ounces) parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 ounces baby spinach
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound fusilli or penne pasta

For the pesto: In a food processor, combine the walnuts, garlic, jalapeno, cheese, salt and pepper. Process until the mixture is smooth. Add the spinach and process until blended. With the machine running, gradually add the olive oil.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water. Place the cooked pasta and pesto in a large serving bowl. Toss well and thin out the sauce with a little pasta water, if needed.

The Biggest Loser

Do YOU watch The Biggest Loser?

If you were a contestant on The Biggest Loser, would you want Jillian or Bob as your trainer?

I am a HUGE Biggest Loser fan! I can't wait to see the season 8 premiere tonight! Last's season was a complete shock when Jerry and Stella whooped the competition despite their being sent home after week one. That's inspiration for us all to know that anything is possible, to never lose hope, and to always work towards meeting our goals.

My sister-in-law tells the story about her friend in a Chicago suburb seeing Jerry and Stella at the gym. How cool is THAT? What an inspiration they are to me!

So tell me, are you tuning in tonight? I will be...with my balance ball and hand weights! Weekly Biggest Loser workouts, that's right!

David Droga

David Droga, the closest thing the advertising world has to a rock star!
--Cynthia Dayco (Comment from Facebook)

I was happy to receive an email this morning from Mindy Liu of Droga 5, New York. She corrected me on the last paragraph of this post regarding David Droga. I stand corrected. So I am reposting this revised blog entry for a more accurate information about the man. I am flabbergasted and flattered that she stumbled upon my blog :)

I think everyone loves this guy not just Saatchi & Saatchi creatives but the advertising people from around the world. David Bjorn Droga--A 40 year old Australian who is the product of a Danish mother and a Jewish businessman father. He began his advertising career from the bottom rung of the ladder -- the mailroom boy at Grey Advertising, Sydney who wanted to write, saw the work on creatives' desks and thought he could do better. He signed up to the Australian Writer & Art Directors School, came top in ranking in the entire Australia then he was immediately offered a job at FCB. Three years later, at 21, he became the youngest Creative Director (based on what I know.)

At age 26, he was offered the job of Regional Executive Creative Director of Saatchi Asia, based in Singapore. Not the typical creative person, Droga put the region on the map by winning more awards than other offices in the network, including London. So, after invading Asia, Droga once again given a fresh challenge. He became the Executive Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi in London, where the agency was shaking after they lost their major accounts and staff. It was a difficult start for him, the British ad community asking 'Dave who?' and wondering what on earth this young Australian had to offer. He proved so much than what was asked from him.

With his continuous success, Droga is now based in New York as the founder and Creative Chairman of Droga 5. An indpendent and fastest growing ad agency in America. It opened in New York and Los Angeles year 2006, then another one in Sydney, Australia around 2008. In Australia, Creative Magazine has named him as "AUSTRALIAN CREATIVE PERSON OF THE DECADE."

Aside from having a wife and three children in Manhattan, building a new venture, David's favorite topics are ART, Environment and anything Australian.

During his show off in the Philippines with Filipino Creatives as his audience
Photos were grabbed from Telly Arce's Facebook

Yesterday, I was informed by some Saatchi friends in Manila that Droga was in town. All of them were giggling while narrating to me their stories on how genius this guy is. But the real story behind those giggles was, David took off his shirt and tried to fit one of Team Manila's shirt during his talk for the creatives in the Philippines. By the way, I think Team Manila was the sponsor of David Droga's Talk. So after hearing these details from Hans Malang and Acid Cid, I vehemently agree that David Droga is soooo HOT! Another reason for me why I should like Australian guys. They are simply beefed up with muscles, with oozing charm and undeniable brilliance. I feel sorry I missed David Droga's visit in Manila. How I wish he will also visit Ho Chi Minh City, but I also wish I will be part of Saatchi & Saatchi Vietnam by then again. But when you dream it should be bigger since it's free right? So I am dreaming to work for Droga 5 in Sydney as an Art Director. Who knows what life brings :)

Is still on high with DROGA!

Anti mati gaya di libur lebaran

Lebaran sebentaaaar lagi...
Lebaran di itung beberapa hari lagi...
Liburan sudah di hadapi...
Kok bosen ya gitu-gitu aja??
Eits, jangan bosen kalo inul sedang goyang. Rada panas agak seksiiiii. maafkanlaaah! Aseeeek. *apesih gueeee!?*

Hi hi hi hi -ketawa kunti-. Mari mari lihat semua, segambreng tips mengisi liburan.

  • Luangin waktu untuk 'Me-Time' misalnya: nonton bioskop sendiri, nyuci baju sendiri, pacaran sama diri sendiri, main ke time zone sendiri, ngerjain orang sendiri. Serba sendiri.
*KEJAM*
  • BACA BLOG GUE : Http://keketketty.blogspot.com
  • BACA NOTES GUE DI FB, search : ketty tressianah
  • Nyobain buat berani jujur sama perasaan. Mumpung lagi bulan baik, ayo tegakkan kejujuran.
  • Go blogging! Ternyata nge-blog itu gampang kok! Enggak percaya? Sama saya juga enggak. Ehhh enggak deng. haha. Blogging itu gampang! Enggak percaya? Percaya dong.
Follow this :
    1. "Awali dengan sambangi aku!"
    2. "Lalu giliran akuuuu!"
    3. "Kawinkan dengan aku saja!"
    4. "Aku pelengkapnya!"
    •  gimana?
    • (Kalau udah ngikutin pastiiii sukses nulis cerpen yang oke. Enggak bohong deh gue, sumpeh!)
Tapi 3 tips terakhir seriuuusan gue. Di jamin makin asik deh. So enjoy your holiday.
hmmm, selamat menikmati detik-detik menjelang lebaran. yuhuuuuuu....

Lebaran sebentar lagi... jeng jeng jret
Baju baru Alhamdulillah.... jeng jeng jret
Minal aidin walfa idzin.... angpao mana??? -__-'

Cacat itu baik di bualn puasa *LHO?*

Hey hey hey...!
Selasa selasa selasa.

Paraaaah! Lupa solat subuh jadinya! ckck. Ampuuun Ya Allah ampuuuun deh akika.

Bangun-bangun jam setengah sebelas, pas banget mas Darto lagi ngegelar games gitu. Inget banget gue, kenapa gue enggak bisa merem lagi. Secaraaaa, mas Darto nyanyi lagunya klorofil (Hijau daun-red) untuk games, begini "Suaraaa, suara apakah itu, suara apa.." gitu deh. Najis!

Artinya tinggal satu jam lagi gue mesti sampe disana?! O h N o!

Dengan bekal mandi koboy plus plus. Dan dengan sukses menunggangi Septia. *Zzz nebeng maksudnya, enggak nunggang yg lain!* sampailah di rumah Adryan jam satu teng teng teng terengtengteng. Sial! Telat sejam gue.
Naasnya lagi, anak-anak yang lain belum datang. Buseeeet. Jam karet to the max, gan!

Bukaaaan!

Gedungnya oke banget." What a freaky i am!

Kageeeeet nyet!

Sambil main sambil ngobrol. Muncullah celetukan aneh bin ajaib. Contohnya, "Akhirnya gue bisa punya temen manusia, biasanya gue ngomong sama komputer."

Bikin mual deh tuh orang.
Mas-mas sok ganteng (msg) : Mbak makasih ya mejanya di bersiin. Dapet salam loh dari gue, salam balik ga?
Mbak-mbak pelayan (mp) : ....
msg : ih embaknya sombong diem aja. salam balik ga?
mp :.... (sambil ninggalin meja itu)
Iiiih apa banget deh tuh mas mas. hieeeeks.

Pas siaran, kita sempet bersuara loooh *noraaaak abis!*.

Berhasil berilfil ria dengan Bang Andi ilfils. lalu sukses ngegerecokin Adit siaran. Enggak lama Mia dan Ditha pulang menunggangi taksi burung biru. Gue masih ngendok di Prambors sambil nunggu nyokap jemput. Eh tiba-tiba si Kiky dateng, jadilah ngobrol sebentar. Abis itu pulang deeeeh.
