Biryani Spiced Turkey with Garlic and Herb RiceI am aware that there are many who may not yet be able to face turkey in the aftermath of Christmas and - perhaps - Thanksgiving. This turkey recipe is very different, however, from the beautifully roasted bird which is generally served up on such special occasions. This is diced turkey thigh, roasted in a Biryani style spice mixture, and served with garlic and herb boiled rice.

Ingredients (Serves Two People)

1/2lb diced turkey thigh
5oz basmati rice
1 garlic clove (crushed or grated)
1 tbsp freshly chopped flat leaf parsley
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground cumin seeds
1/4 tsp ground coriander seeds
1/4 tsp chilli powder
Salt

Method

The first step in this recipe is to dry marinate the diced turkey thigh in the spices. The meat and spices should simply be mixed thoroughly together in a small glass bowl to ensure even coating, covered with clingfilm and refrigerated for at least an hour.

The oven should be pre-heated to 400F/200C/Gas Mark 6. The turkey pieces should be spread out evenly on a sheet of aluminium foil on a baking tray and the foil wrapped in to a loose but sealed parcel. Note that no form of oil or liquid should be added and the turkey should be cooked for around twenty-five minutes. Be careful to ensure that the turkey is properly cooked.

The rice should be washed and added to a pan of boiling, salted water, where it should be simmered for twelve minutes. It should then be thoroughly drained before being mixed with the parsley and garlic. A small ramekin or similar dish may then be lined with clingfilm before the rice is packed tightly inside. Turn the dish carefully upside down on to the plate and holding the edges of the clingfilm, lift off the dish. The clingfilm should then be carefully peeled away before the turkey is added to the plate.

Kani Nabe

Hari ini menu Kani nabe kalo diartiin jadi Panci kepiting hehhe, aneh juga. Masakan yg diminati orang pada saat musim dingin, yaitu nabe, semacam sup , dimakan panas2 ngangetin badan.. Kali ini menu utamanya kepiting. Kepitingnya beli 1 box, bagi dua bareng mertua...

Isi nya sederhana aja, cuman kepiting, sawi, tahu, ama chikuwa. Maunya dikasih jamur, tapi kelupaan beli..hahha..jadi ya seadanya aja. ..yang enak si kuahnya, soalnya rasa kepitingnya n sawinya melebur di kuah. Anak2 n suami makan lahap, jadi seneng deh. Gw kebagian makan paling trakhir, coz harus bukain daging kepitingnya buat anak2..haha, kerasnya tuh kulit..

Tapi gw pkir sih kepiting Indo kayaknya lebih sip dah, lebih banyak isinya...apalagi pake kuah yang super pedass...jadi ngiler dah....sayang waktu di Indo kemarin ga sempet makan ..huk huk...

Jalan jalan keliling kota

Hari ini temanya jalan2 naik train, densha keliling kota. Kebetulan suami kerja siang, jadi nganter gw n anak2 ke mall Grand FUji yang deket ma train dalam kota, shi nai densha. Kali ini beli tiket yang 1 harian, jadi bisa bolak balik naik kereta Pertama gw dengan yakinnya kasih ke supir trainnya 300yen, ternyataaa udah naik jadi 400 yen. Malu dah...

Tujuan pertama ke Dogo Onsen, tempat wisata terkenal di kota Matsuyama, tempat permandian air panas hot spring, yang udah berumur 3ribu tahun? Ga tau bener ato ga??? Di daerah situ, disediakan tempat buat berendam kaki gratis, jadi ya gw n Mei ikutan rendam2 kaki aja, ga ikutan mandi hot spring. Sayangnya Xiang bobo di strollernya pas di train. Untung aja bawa stroller walaupun repot banget buat naik turun trainnya..

Abis dari situ, kita naik train lagi ke shotengai, tampat toko2 berjejer sepanjang jalan macem Pasar Baroenya Jakarta..jadi kangen ma Pasar Baroe hehehe.
Jalan2 ke situ, window shopping aja, jalan mpe ke mall Takashimaya.

Di Takashimaya ada bianglala..namanya bener ga si??? lupa dah gw bhs indonya apaan.
Karena gw punya tiket train yg 1 hari, boleh naik bianglala cuman bayar 200yen aja. Kebetulan Mei n Xiang ga usah bayar, karena masih dibawah 6 tahun..heheh, lumyan, ngirit com .Abis itu pergi ke arena bermain anak2 dah, biasa dah Mei n Xiang senengnya bukan main...buang duit com. Haha, gpp dah sekali2 aja.



Dah jam 3.30, kita siap2 buat pulang, naik train lagi ke JR Matsuyama. Disitu beli karcis train buat pulang ke rumah, Pas banget jam 4.20 udah ada train menuju rumah.
Sebenernya anak2 masih mau main, tapi berhubung mesti nunggu train, n takut kesorean udara semakin dingin, jadi nya cepet2 dah pulang. PUlang di rumah da jam 4.30, capee..sharian naik train. Tapi anak2 senangg banget...terutama Xiang, yang sekarang mpir tiap hari minta naik kereta..hohoho....
