The beans can be bought everywhere in Korea in cans.

Twice Cooked (refried)Beans With Cumin.
Recipe

.25 cup of canola or other oil.
1 cup chopped onion.
1table spoon ground cumin
3to 4 cups drained cooked or canned kidney or other beans
salt and pepper
.25 teaspoon of cayenne
Place the oil in a large skillet, heat to medium.
When oil is hot add onions and cook stirring until it is golden brown about 10 mins
Add cumin and cook stirring for one min.
Add beans and mash with a large fork or potato masher.
Season with salt and pepper and add more cayenne or cumin.

Jeff also made Wheat Flour Tortillas

Recipe
1.5 Cups of all purpose flour
.25 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of lard or butter
ABOUT .5 of a cup of water

Combine all together. Kneed until elastic. For 4-5 minutes by hand.
Wrap in plastic and let sit at room tem for an hour or two.
Divide into 6. Roll to about 8inches

Cucumber Cups



Great Easy Finger Food.
ingredients

Cucumber,
Onion,
Mayo,
Curry powder,
Red bell pepper,
Cut the cucumber into cup shapes
dice the onions and pepper add to the mayo
add a little curry to taste.
This is a easy and not very expensive version but you could fill with something like this
smoked salmon and sour cream
crab or make a prawn cocktail salad.
For prawn salad use small prawns (shrimp)
and for sauce use
1 quantity of mayonnaise
1 dessert spoon Worcestershire sauce
a few drops Tabasco sauce
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 dessert spoon lime juice

There are two places in Suncheon where I have had this, one is the very popular place beside choam plaza . Which I think is ok. Ithink its 6000 per person. But then there is a place across from the Suncheon university this place is 5000 (I am not so sure)and you get an unreal amount of food and its great really great.

Vietnamese Spring Rolls




INGREDIENTS

  • 8 rice wrapper
  • 8 large cooked shrimp - peeled
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 2 leaves lettuce, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • carrot
  • onion
  • noddles (potato starch noodles chap cha noodles)
  • sweet chili dipping sauce

You can buy the wrappers in homepluse they are next to noodles the cooked shrimp are in the freezer fish area, you could buy shrimp peel them and cook them. But the frozen cooked ones defrost under running water in 10 mins.
Sweet chili sauce is also in homepluse and you can get mint plants for 2000 won everywhere in the summer.
So chop all the veg you would like (I use carrot red bell pepper and spring onion the colors look good through the rice paper). Chop it nice and fine. Cook some chicken or pork if you don't like shrimp.
Cook your noodles in a little chicken stock.
Dip you rice paper in a little water
add some noodles, some veg , some meat of fish and mint, a little garlic if you like and some lime juice if you like .
Roll and serve.

Hari ini giliran roti tawar tampil di muka anda...hehhe...hari ini lg bikin roti tawar.. biasa deh pake mesin home bakery, tok tok tuk tek tok, bippppppppp....langsung deh jadi...tinggal siap dipotong, trus dikasih selei, ato bikin sandoichi [sandwich]...ato bkin roti panggang...apa aja deh....

Nulis lagi nih resepnya...[ukuran 1 1/2 ]
air 280 ml
tepung roti 400 gr
gula 3 sendok
garam 1 1/2 sendok kecil
mentega 30 gr
susu 1 1/2 sendok
fermifan 1 1/2 sendok kecil
Jangka waktru 2 jam 50 menit.

Segitu aja dulu....selamat mencoba.
