Montenapo, a restaurant planned for the the New York Times building that Eater.com mentioned more than a year ago, now has an opening date: April 29 (according to its publicists). The chef is German Lucarelli, formerly of Bice. The food is “authentic modern and traditional Italian.” The name comes from Via Montenapoleone in Milan.
What else? 200 seats, 5,200 square feet. That's about it. Oh, except for the web site.

Tre Restaurant & Lounge in Sioux Falls, S.D., has cut some of its staff, which of course is what companies do these days. In this case it means that a talented young chef by the name of Tyler Honke (pronounced Honkey) is on the job market.
I met Tyler at last year’s Taste of Elegance, a competition sponsored by the American Pork Board, and he cooked a whole freakin’ pig's head, dusting the temples with fennel,
rubbing the cheeks with garlic, coating the neck (a cut very much appreciated in Latin America and Southeast Asia) with Piave cheese. He was Tre’s executive chef, so one would assume he knows how to run a kitchen.

wed, 1st april 2009
- went to college. met my new lect Mr Sukhry 4 the 1st time. got my 1st assignment 4 this sem 4 subj "audio editing, mixing & dubbing 1". and this assignment, i've to submit it by 2morrow morning. grrr~~~
- went to giant. beli sayur2 utk mama. including kacang bendi & kacang panjang. it reminds me of akid. wakakaka. then i met nora, and we went to Mc D. talk, talk & talk. maghrib, went to JJ au-keramat utk beli Big Apple 4 mama. mama maw mkn. and i've got my 1st parcel from on9 boutique. whee~~~ excited! blk rumah. solat, mandi etc. buat assignment.
- the assignment. nothing much 2 do. yes it's simple but, it takes time. seriously. just, cari trailer any movie. and give the title, synopsis and list down all the sound effects used in the movie trailer. the hardest part to do is, convert trailer tuh ke format lain selain FLV, and burn movie trailer dlm bentuk DVD. the tiring part - watched n listened to the movie trailer carefully more than 20 times. huu~~~ and put list down the sound effects with the duration. dush3!!! perlukan kerja yg teliti!
- pukul 12 sy da give up n ttp laptop dulu. sy nak sambung esok pagi pas subuh. then baru je nak rehat, TTM msg n pakse tgk tv3. wawawa. it's ally iskandar talk show, n they were discussing bout something related to poligami & kahwin lebeyh dr 1! oh gosh... he knows how much i hate poligami! and then. i just listened to it, just to satisfied him! haha... TTM x leh blaaa. mau kahwin lebeyh dr 1!
- almost 2 o'clock, baru sy tdow. bgn subuh n tdow blk tnpa sempat set blk alarm clock! mmg x sambung buat kerje la kan. sambung atas katil~ wakakaka. XP

- d sebabkan sy tdow pas subuh n lupe set alarm clock, sy bernasib baik sbb terjage tepat kul 8am. imagine if 9am baru terjage? 4 sure lmbt la g class. huhu. rushing2 mandi n main ambik baju yg ade, terus g class. sampai sharp 9:02am. huu...lecturer x de dlm class lg. wait until 9:40am, suddenly. Daya, my junior came and announced "class 5pm - 9pm" we were like... WHAT??? gosh. it's not easy to wake up early in the morning when u realize that u've a lot of things to be done in just,1 day. cett. ckp as if sy bgn awal sgt la pagi td kan. okay2. but still, penat n wasting time kot?
- g maybank. bank-in duit sy beli belts this on9 boutique & went to CMR, breakfast roti canai telur with dila, salghee, miraghee & shasha. then, the other went back home and it just me and dila. after a few minutes, i went back to home with dila to discuss bout our assignment and finished the discussion bout 12:30pm.. lunch. dila blk umah, and sy sambung kerja skit2. b4 2pm, sy stop, ttp laptop n baring2...

In mourning [and the most awesome vending machine ever]
Apparently my mother dough has died.
I've not been able to verify this fact due to being 150 miles away but according to the GF it has taken on the appearance of paint and the smell of something rotten.
'I think I've killed your sourdough,' she said.
I tried to stop the disappointment registering in my voice but am unsure as to the extent of my success.
'That's, erm OK,' I replied blearily this morning. 'I'll just make another one and then nurture it for weeks.'
Which, in a way is good, because it means I can write about it in real time. As it happens. Stir for Stir, bubble for bubble.
Sympathy is both accepted and encouraged either here or via Twitter. I shall now go and don a black cape and a look of sadness.
Also this - A street vending machine that makes pizza. Cool.
