Time To Fly!

I'm leaving for the North in a couple days and am very excited! It's so great to see family and friends. Also we will be attending one of my best friends wedding..Ed & Angela.

Things That Made Me Happy Today

-Getting a haircut. A new girl "Joy" was my stylist today since my old one left. She is AMAZING! She did such a great job, I will forever be her client. This salon is super cool...it's all decked out in Rock-a-billy decor, and all the people are super cool. If I wasn't a designer I would have considered going into Cosmetology. I always love different hairstyles. Unique stuff.

-Borrowing Dustins car because its 110ยบ outside and the air conditioning died in my car last winter. Bah. I would have melted like a record in the oven if it wasn't for him. In return, I filled his tank back up and brought him a 6-pack. It's great having best friends in the neighborhood, we help each other with favors all the time, and randomly show up when dinner is ready. haha. Love Dustin and Laura, they're good people.

-Made some paper flowers in replace of the real ones that keep dying. As much as I love creating digital art, I love working with my hands. Usually when I'm done, my hands are either covered in paint, or sticking together with glue.

-Feeling better today. I had the start of a cold on Monday, but have somehow won the battle against the boogie monster that invaded my nasal cavity.

-Made dinner with Nathan. We ate some left-overs tonight, but prepared a feast of beef stew for tomorrow night. I love slow cooker meals.

-Had time to design some Etsy Web Banners. I plan to sell these in my Etsy shop too.

-Finally...time to snuggle my best friend. Bella Monster. Love that poop machine.

Philadelphia, Here I Come!

Well, actually that's not true.  I'm here already but I am SO SCREWED.

As you know, I am here to orchestrate Eric's move.  If he had any free time to help, I would welcome it, but he is working, working in DC to bring in money.  I'll cut him a break.

It's Wednesday.  The movers were supposed to be here tomorrow.  Now they are saying Sunday.

SUNDAY??????

What on earth am I going to do for the next couple of down days?  I'm not used to free time.  Suggestions, anyone?

Tips for understanding "Not Here to Please You" (Statement of Principles)

Hi there!

I'm writting from my mum's home at Algeciras; it's goo being here for all August wit my family, meeting old friends and having a great time. Are you having fun too? I hope so!!

Today I would like to express my opinion about my own blog. Yes, it sounds strange, but I've receive some comments lately about it, and I think that an explanation about my blog is necessary, because sometimes people get confuse about it.

Not Here To Please You was born three years ago as a place for express myself and my imagination. At that time I was writting in spanish, as I never though about people from other countries reading what I had to say.

After more than two years, I took a look at it, and it was a dark and sad place. I mean, it looks like I only had to say things about sadness or drama, when my life was so different from that (it wasn't a field of roses but it was ok), so I decided to change the main theme and started to write about my daily life and my personal opinion about the world, especially about the fashion world. I don't want people around me saying "you look so fabulous" all the time; that kind of comments are gorgeous sometimes, but there are another time when you want to read real opinions about something you've been expending your time writting about.

When I write about an opinion, I really love reading yours too, so that's why I appreciate any kind of constructive comments; as you may know, I never reproach any comment (except if this one contains bad language, that's something I don't like and this place is not about it), that's why everyone can post here. But I certainly also appreciate people who's not afraid of leaving their names and place where you can find them. I mean, if you're saying something bad or you want to start a debt, please, leave here a place where we all can find you and discuss our opinions; not only "throw the stone and hide the hand", as we say in Spain.

For me, this places is really special, because is not only about "what I'm wearing today" or "OMG look the last Prada shoes!". Of course, sometimes I write about things like that, but mostly all the time is about lifestyle, inspiration and the world that's around me. My opinion, the one I want to share with you. And I adore your answers, as I said before.

So please, stop hidding yourself behind the "anonymous" option and share your nickname, your opinion and your good intentions; not only here, but also all around the internet world. I'm sick of bad anonymous comments in some blogs; it's so simple as "if you don't like it, just don't leave any comment or make a constructive one". Yes, being constructive is sometimes a little bit difficult.
But I see you as intelligent people, so I'll treat all of you like that.

Anyway, this is only my opinion ;)

White Wednesday Relaxing

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a good week. This post is for White Wednesday at http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/, check out the great birdhouse, too cute. This White Wednesday I just wanted a peaceful post. So I want to show you where I sit when I do sit outside (Too Hot right now for that). I usually like to sit and read, watching the dog play in the back. As you can see my love of all things white even extends out here. That is a little decking I bought at Ikea a couple of years ago, and yes the bench is from Ikea too. A couple of pillows and it is very comfortable. A little wrought iron table I painted white (of course), and another Ikea find, the tray (it was already white). My miniature rose bush (white blooms of course), planted in a concrete planter (no I didn't paint it white, I did think about it though). Beyond the lattice is the trash cans (I like not seeing trash cans).

A little cold tea today, as it is over 100 degrees, but it still can be drank in a lovely cup. Reading and drinking tea, I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

White rose buds waiting to be welcomed to the world.
More white flowers in the yard. No I don't know what kind of bush this is, but it is still pretty. (I don't know because it was here when I moved in, it was pretty so I kept it).
Well I hope you had a White Wednesday Relaxing time. Have a good White Wednesday and visit Faded Charm for more White Wednesday treats.
See everyone next time.......
