I Love this Friday nite

Hello guys and gals, sekarang aku sedang menikmati sabtu bersama powerpuff-ku di J-co PIM :)
Tapi aku mau menceritakan Jumat malamku. Ahaha.

Meskipun gue berakting lemas depan pak Jumino, sehingga gue lolos pelajaran olahraga,
begitu pelajaran matematika selesai aku kabuuuur.

Tapi aku bertemu anak GLC, yaitu Dea.

Lalu aku sempat melihat Joko Anwar.
Masuk,"Drakula Mantu".
Lucu!!
Sepanjanag film ketawa aja kerjaannya.

Lalu malamnya di IMHO,what a lucky me!

Biasanya gue hanya mencintai saturday and thursday.Aneeeeh!

Senang sekali rasanya. hmmmm.

Easy Herb Chicken

I love this easy, fall-off-the-bone-tender-goodness crockpot recipe.

Easy Herb Chicken

1 whole chicken (giblets removed)
poultry seasoning
salt

1. Rinse the chicken.

2. "Blacken" the chicken with poultry seasoning and sprinkle salt on the chicken.

3. Put the chicken in the crockpot. Cook on low for 8 hours.

French Toast with Cranberry Jam

G'day Mates!

Aussie Day is just two days away. I woke up this morning thinking about what am I going to do on Tuesday? and at the same time I wanted to cook my favorite French toast, which I did. I just had it with my favorite Cranberry jam and finished the jar today. My French toast tasted different because of the vanilla and cinnamon. Thanks to Nigella Lawson & of course Jamie Oliver!

Lunch time came and I was still thinking about Aussie Day (so obsessed) 'til I took my ladle and cooked some ginger pork and served it with to my Vietnamese friends. Then later on I had my Vespa lesson with them. I'm just happy that I was able to ride and run it! After falling 4x, I agree now with my Vietnamese friends that if I won't try and try I will never learn. So I believe that you have to fall several times or even more than the average before you really succeed on something.

Night came, I decided to do some barbies since I doubt if I can do it on Tuesday after my Muay Thai class. I invited my friends from Sky Garden and Hung Vuong and we grilled the chicken and dory that I marinated. I also bought some fresh corn and they brought some sausages to be grilled too. And of course my Ginger Turmeric Lemon Rice never fails to amaze hungry stomachs. Thanks to my new found friend Quinn for bringing the griller. The girls had fun and before we actually started the barbecue picnic dinner at my veranda, my Russian friend Mischu arrived. He's the only thorn among the roses. I guess we all had fun. I hope next time I can finally buy my real griller.

Still looking forward for Tuesday :-)

hugs,

Black Bean Couscous Cakes

What to do with leftover couscous?  Many times when making rice, orzo or couscous as a side I will have leftover portions.  Of course, you can just save them for a later meal.  But sometimes, you can transform a boring side into something new or even a new meal.  Earlier this week, I prepared a mango couscous mix to go with grilled fish.  I admit the idea for this recipe came from that box, which offered a recipe for black bean cakes.  While a bit of overzealous cleaning resulted in the loss of that specific recipe, making cakes out of couscous is a simple process involving egg and flour.  Most recipes also call for the addition of cilantro, and some lemon.  I added the black beans, and instead of lemon, added lime.  The picture above shows how I paired the cakes as a side with chicken, which I marinated in a chipotle lime marinade, but the cakes can serve as a meal themselves, perhaps with a salad.  Enjoy.

Ingredients:
2 cups cooked couscous
1/4 cup cilantro leaves, chopped
1/2 14-ounce can of black beans (or the whole can if desired)
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp lime juice
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup olive oil

Directions:
In a bowl, mix together all of the ingredients except the olive oil.  In a large nonstick pan, heat the oil over medium heat.  Form the couscous mixture into cakes of a few inches across.  They may be fragile at this stage, so they may require pressing each cake together around the edges and transferring it from a plate to the pan gently with a spatula.  Cook the cakes 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden.  Drain the cooked cakes on a paper towel.  Serve the cakes with a chutney if desired.
