Trend: extreme summer layering
I caught up with Johnny the founder of vintage store Snowy Wilderness soaking up the sun on Atlantic Avenue. I was quite taken with his "summer layering" look, which he says he's stolen from his little brother - who would wear sports shorts underneath his school uniform for speedy change over in the summer. "Its an outfit beneath an outfit!" he says, "I'm channeling the PlayStation generation". Weirdly i love it.

Top three vintage stores
When we moved into our tiny top-floor apartment in Brooklyn last month the open-plan space was eye-wateringly empty. What we needed was some beautiful pre-loved furniture to coax it back to its former glory. And so the hunt began to find some covetable - but not crazily spendy - vintage treasures.
After much sleuthing on the Internet, poking around NYC stores and perusing of markets, here is my top three got to places (so far). But I'll keep adding to it. Let me know of any under-the-radar fabulous haunts that should be on the list!
1) HOT HOUSE MARKET...
Style mavens Doug and Carrie Rosen are the brains behind this genius traveling vintage boutique. They take to the road from their Indiana home to set up shop in markets around the country and dispense their colorful, weather-worn finds.
Tatty but irresistible armchairs jostle for position beside chipped-up painted cabinets laden with kitsch 1950's kitchenware, framed paint-by-numbers and flock enameled tins. And the prices, well, they're ridiculously affordable.
PS Carrie also does a nice line in handmade aprons, cushions and other textiles. To find out where they'll be stopping by this summer check out their blog. Or just buy from home by visiting their online shop
2) THREE POTATO FOUR...
This emporium of vintage and modern goodies - curated from an old textile mill in Philadelphia by husband and wife team Janet Morales & Stu Eli - is irresistible: i actually want to crawl inside their website and live there amongst all the lovely things.
Its the pricier end of the scale but there's a magnificently well-edited selection: industrial factory stools, hulking hundred-year-old tailors cabinets, charming elementary school prints, vintage beer hoardings, lemon-yellow typewriters...you'll want it all.
PS we're planning a special Philly road trip to stop by one of their legendary barn sales. They're held the last weekend of every month from 10am - 5pm. The next one is April 30th - May the 1st. www.threepotatofourshop.com
3) FURNISH GREEN...
Founder Nathan subscribes to the idea that vintage furniture should be priced according to function rather than history. Which is why his fast expanding showroom (run by a passionate team of antiques scavengers and design students) is packed with remarkably affordable pieces.
You'll find it wedged in beside a dance studio on the 5th floor of an unassuming midtown block - but trust me: its a treasure trove!
PS They bring in around a dozen new pieces from their warehouse a day, so check the new arrivals section of their in the morning. Delivery is free if you spend over $500 and around $50 if not. www.furnishgreen.com

Fainting Spells
Hi there everyone!
Today I went to a vintage and second hand market called After Tea Party, it was the first time that it was released, but it was ok, although I didn't bought anything... but I receive a gift!
Well, I must say that I receive two gifts today: the first one was this:
I saw my beloved Nati! She's been living for a while in Bonn (Germany) and tomorrow she's coming back there, but on March she would be here again at Barcelona.
My second gift was a present from Nati, these gorgeous red leather gloves... with a big ribbon!
But this wasn't the only gift I received this week... on Thursday, I went to Phenomena's session (I'll show you what's this later) and Micky bought me these pair of shoes, from H&M Divided... they're horribles and great at the smae time!
And this is how I looked today; as you can see these days I'm dressing like if I was going to a rave party... well, I don't know why!
T-shirt - Junko Mizuno for Kidsrobot.
Skirt - Ben Sherman
Tights - Offbrand
Boots - Cache Cache
Jacket - H&M
Skull Butterfly - Handmade

My Inspiring Christmas
Hi everyone, Thank you everyone who commented to my last post or have sent your prayers, they are all appreciated. Let's do Christmas everyone. I put Christmas up early this year, because Mr. Swedish Room wanted to have the office Christmas party at our house. Might I say parties are nice when they are not at your house. So instead of being the evil Christmas witch this year, I decided to give in and start the party. Did I say Christmas witch, I meant SUPER CHRISTMAS WITCH. Lets say my Martha Stewart gene was going into overdrive. Everything had to be perfect and unique, everything had to be cleaned and recleaned. The house had to be redone, and redone again. Might I say I yelled so much, I couldn't stand myself. Somehow by the grace of God we made it. It was a nice party and I will show you some of the redoes, but not today. Instead let me show you some Christmas at The Room.
For more great Christmas ideas go visit Debra at http://commonground-debrasvintagedesigns.blogspot.com/
for Vintage Inspiration Friday.
Go hugs someone today.
See everyone later....

Time left for love (Shout out louds)
Yesterday I discovereda new bunch of stencils near the cafe where we always go. I'm a big fan of this kind of street art, and it's good to discover new things around here!
I should do a guide with all the grafittis I've found around Barcelona, because I'm always taking pictures of the good ones for me... maybe I'm doing it one of these days.
Today it's been rainig almost all day, so I've stayed at home, writting some articles for Miau Magazine and making some accesories. while I was drinking hot tea... I love hot tea when it rains!
And this is what I was wearing yesterday, almost all was vintage:
Shirt - Vintage
Skirt - vintage
Boots - Aces of London
Orange scarf - Vintage
This orange scarf is really really old, I think it's from the begining of the past century. It was from the grandmother of my uncle's partner... really old!
And one thing more. Now's official, I'm doing some photojournalism for Vice Magazine. Yesterday they published my first picture, you can see it here! I hope they would publish me lots of pictures!!
What are you doing this week? We've got the Shopping Night Out on Thursday!
