Despite my wedding taking place over two years ago, I still have a bit of an obsession with wedding blogs (thankfully one of my closest friends is planning her big day which gives me the perfect excuse to "help" her, by scouring my favorite sites). Just this week I've been coveting this dreamy Maryland wedding (they invited a donut truck and a bulldog in a bow tie...whats not to love?) and - hello! - how adorable is this glam-meets-geek library inspired shoot?
So when the lovely Jana at Low Key Bride asked if she could interview me about my day I got a bit carried away with tips.
From how to spend less than $300 on your wedding flowers (but look like you spent $1000)
to why you have to have a bake off
and why planks on tables is a genius idea
as well as the reason your local farmer may be the key to fabulous rustic seating for your guests
O and get a pintrest account: essential for creating order out of all your fabulous ideas!

An English country wedding
What a treat to see Sara and Kash get married!!! This gorgeous couple tied the knot outside a cute-as-a-button cricket club in Shenley, England.
After the ceremony (and much admiring of the brides vintage dress) guests headed into the bunting-decked tent for pie and mash, judging the bake-off and tea served from flowery china cups (which Sara had painstakingly collected over the year: over a 100 in all).
Then it was games galore (tug of war, egg and spoon and sack races) on the lawns - when thankfully the sun peeped out for an hour. Before Luke and Daniel (AKA Unspoken Promises) took to the stage and we all danced till the sun went down (drinking dark n'stormy cocktails) before being sent home with with bagel sandwiches at midnight. The perfect day!

Viva la Paper!
Inspired by my mom's paper flowers she and her friend Bonnie made for my wedding, I wanted to give it a go. I found a great tutorial online to make paper roses, a different style than she made, but both are beautiful. I made three of them and turned the big one into a barrette for my hair, and the others I turned into magnets to decorate my fridge! I love making them and plan to make really large ones to put in shadow boxes and hang on the wall eventually.
