Beach on Saturday

Nathan has been very busy with the First Robotics program lately, so I decided to spend my Saturday at the beach. I took my arse to the barnes of the noble and found an AMAZING book. I had no idea the series Dexter was based off of a book series. I can't wait to read them all. Here are a few random snapshots from my day yesterday.

When I was setting up camp I saw this bug and instantly kicked him out of his spot, until I realized that he was actually a "she" and she had a baby on her back. Then the guilt set in. I picked her up gently and put her on another bed of grass out of harms way. I have no idea what kind of bug this is do you?

Flip-Flops

Winter is the BEST season for this reason.

While most are bundled up in their sweaters and boots, I still get to let my pigs breathe and run through the grass. Florida is the best place in the world at this time of year.

THANKSGIVING 2010

We spent the morning riding bikes on the beach, it was a warm sunny day and we didn't want to spend it inside. We cooked a fantastic meal and ate with friends in the evening. Here's a couple snapshots from under the pier at the beach.

We call it catching, not fishing.

A low-key weekend around here...did some design work, and went a little nuts at the craft
store on scrapbook stuff.  Nathan got up early Sunday morning around 6 to go fishing with
Ron, a co-worker on NASA's exclusive beach.

I told him not to come home unless you have dinner...so this is what we brought...

A 4.5ft. Black tip shark.

I Was thinking of putting the head in the mailbox with the mouth open...but
I don't really want to piss off the mail lady that bad. It'd be a funny joke though right?
He has REALLY sharp teeth, just like needles....no tongue, no bones in this creature. Their
skin feels like a cat's tongue, very fine sandpaper texture.

Who's coming for dinner? Shark steaks are very good and a delicacy here.

Hope ya'll had a good weekend!

Beach in Jupiter

I've been real busy lately working on my professional design life, so I haven't had much time to post anything new. I completely re-designed my branding including: my website, my resume, my business card, and my art. I have built two websites to add to my portfolio to hopefully bring more business in.

If you'd like to see what I've been working on in the design world goto: www.katrinagelino.com

On another note...this weekend was pretty busy. Nathan and Dustin went down south to Jupiter for some scuba-diving. I drove down there the next day to check out a new dog beach for bella and I. She always has such a good time there.  Digging enormous holes, chasing birds, sniffing butts, running with doggie friends. I didn't get too many pictures, because of the sand issue, but I did capture a few moments.

I just love the one of her paw in the sand. Its so funny. The top picture is at the Square Grouper..a wonderful little place on the beach where we got some lunch. A great relaxed atmosphere there. We'll be back for sure. What did you do this weekend?

Love The Beach

Although its hot as hell here in the summer, I love living by the beach. Yesterday I grabbed a new book and went there alone to cleanse the soul and enjoy a good story. I love the wind, the smell, the water, the sand, the wildlife...everything about it.

I love that there are signs at every boardwalk that warn you not to mess with the Sea Turtle nests..these little creatures are so beautiful. This little guy is about to get his first taste of salt water..where he will be spending the rest of his life.
