I want to introduce you all to a new blog I came across from Courtney over at Women Living Well. Her friend, Clare, just started a new fitness blog called Peak 13 Fitness. She is going to be hosting this new link up event in the month of April. You can read about it and watch her vlog here. I am going to be linking up and seeing what challenges she will be giving us, starting next week. I encourage you to do the same!

... because it breaks the intellectual grip that the NEA has on the education system.
When I watch student protests in Portugal or Illinois and I see them chanting against basic math and basic economics, it makes me realize what a huge impact the education system has had on their thought processes. The issues at play aren't difficult to understand. In a free society, businesses have the ability to flee tax and regulatory oppression. Social spending comes from profits. You can't lower profits and raise social spending without ending up insolvent and bankrupt, yet our students can't grasp this simple concept.
Seriously, think about that for a minute. Here are the equations involved:
Profits * Tax Rate + Borrowing = Government Spending
Government Spending = Government Programs + Debt Servicing Costs
That's it. That's all there is. If you raise taxes and increase regulation, profitable people and businesses may leave. If you borrow money to pay for social programs, your debt-servicing costs will crowd out the programs you want to support. How is it possible that after a decade or so of "education" our students can't comprehend those two simple equations?
I'm not a big fan of bashing the education industry. I'd argue that poor test results and low graduation rates are more the result of the breakdown of traditional morality and the nuclear family than poor teaching. This one, however, is completely the fault of the education establishment. These people are flat-out morons when it comes to the trivially simple equations that govern spending. The students taught by these idiots go on to vote, leading to forehead-smackingly stupid results like those in Illinois. At least if parents could use vouchers to send their kids to private schools, they might learn basic economic math from someone other than the brain-dead progressives in the NEA.
You paid for this. You hired the teachers who screwed up these kids' view of reality.
My recent trip to Bangkok, Thailand is quite tiring. Given the fact that I came there for work for a specific project doesn't mean I should be entitled not to do other projects in the office (it's supposed to be that way) but I was working morning 'til morning. Like sometimes 8am to 2am or less. I wouldn't complain because the beauty of my job is that, no matter how tiring it is... I can still manage to inject some fun! So having said that, I did explore a bit of Bangkok with the little free time I got and with the help of my best buddy or my closest friend for 15 years and he's my secret-keeper dude---Warren Santiago.
Food and shopping were great in Bangkok although I really don't have enough time to do shopping and city sightseeing. Next week I will come back, but again for work. I hope I'd have more free time and hopefully I can visit Ayuttaya the old capital of Thailand.
Today I am very sick that I didn't go to work and just eat some leftover that I cooked from last week. This was inspired by the special dish that the chef from Fifteen London prepared for me during my visit. I just guessed the ingredients and how he prepared it because I cannot forget the taste so I came up with my version.
Boil potatoes until soft and ready for mashing. Mash accordingly with cream and coconut milk. Add butter, curry powder, salt and pepper then fold until smooth and without any lumps. Ready your pan with butter then saute onion leeks followed by prawns. Seasoned it with paprika then saute again until cooked. Add kidney beans and 1/4 cup of chicken stock. Simmer for 2 minutes then add the mashed potato mixture and chicken stock. Add again a pinch of salt and pepper then serve hot. Good for sick person with fever who cannot take heavy food.
I am on spring break this week from work, so I am being a little ambitious in the kitchen this week. Hopefully I will find some good recipes to share with all of you in the coming weeks. I do have a couple of extra carry over items from last week; the granola and irish soda bread. Last week ended up being so crazy that I was hardly home and didn't have time to make them. So I added them on for this week.

pernah dengar restoran Intai-Intai? aku pernah. Last 2009, pernah lah pergi survey dgn kwn-kwn kolej. Ingat nak shooting dkt sana. tp owner dia tak de plak time tu. Restoran ni name die intai-intai sebab die mmg tersorok. jadi perlulah intai-intai kalau nak cari. bayangkanlah, di tengah permulaan MRR2, di sebalik bengkel-bengkel semua, rupanya ada restoran siap ada tasik dgn music band lagi. Makanan dia, memang best- best. Kawan cakap, kalau bulan puasa, memang sentiasa fully booked.
Oh apa kene mengene dgn reunion? well well well. Abah cakap, ada reunion family yg area KL, so maybe ada 2-3 keluarga je. so i was expecting, just about 2-3 tables. with those relatives yg tak berapa nak kenal. kecuali mak cik ida + pak cik pian. nasib baik aku ajak kma + kak sally sepupu aku yg sentiase di sisi nih. sekali, sampai sampai, tengok-tengok ada En. Baha sambut. En. Baha akademi fantasia tuh!
