Fans of historical writing will have a treat this summer with not one but two festivals dedicated to the genre to take place within a few days of each other.
The one and only Ottakar’s founder James Heneage is the surprising brains behind the new Chalke Valley History Festival in Wiltshire which will run from 7th-9th July. Anthony Beevor, Max Hastings, Tom Holland and Michael Wood are among the distinguished patrons.
The festival, announced today, will take place a mere week before the Historical Writers’ Association’s inaugural Festival of Historical Writing, running as part of the Festival of History in Northamptonshire, from 16th-17th July.
