Madskillz Festival Was off the Hook!

If you did not make it to Madskillz, you missed out.  The gala show was jam packed from beginning to end with incredible talent.  Phenomenal.  For some reason, there was a communication breakdown with filming it and we are unsure of who took footage (if any).

So, if you have some footage of the show, please send it to us asap so we can edit it and get it up for you to look at.

Cheers,
Jake and Chris

Monday Happenings

Summer seems to be going by too quick! I have a large to do list, that I haven't even tackled. Maybe I'll try to start on it this week.

This morning I went in for more blood work at Dr. G's office. They called this evening and said everything looks REALLY good. Our first ultrasound is scheduled for July 8th. Jeremy and I tried to figure out my due date, not sure if we're right or not. We estimate that it will be February 28th. Next year is also Leap Year, so it's possible that we could have a Leap Year baby. My brother-in-law is a Leap Year baby, so they could share the same birthday. We shall see!
Before school got out Jeremy
told me he wanted me to do two things this summer....carry his child and find new recipes. Luckily I've managed one of those. The other request I started tonight. I found a recipe for a Mexican Chicken Ring on another blog. You can find it at http://jennasjourneyblog.blogspot.com/search/label/Main%20Dishes
She has some really good recipe's! Here's the finished product.

It tastes just as good a it looks.

Other than cooking and pondering my to do list, I've been hanging out with my puppies. Here is Madison lounging this afternoon. Ha ha!

Happy Monday!

back from bali...

Have you ever had a week so special that you don't quite know what to say about it?
That's how I feel about my time in Bali...although you probably wouldn't believe me if you'd been in my office yesterday where they couldn't shut me up about it!
I was doing a workshop called The Art and Craft of Writing the Senses, run by The Sydney Writers' Centre and delivered by the extraordinary Patti Miller. A writer, a teacher, an absolute gift and a total inspiration.
I went to Bali to find out whether writing was something I could possibly do. Well, that is. And as I left Ubud on Saturday night I told Patti and anyone else who'd listen that this had been one of the best experiences of my life. And it's true. The camaraderie of 12 women, all with a passion for writing and a huge variety of life experiences; all supportive, caring, nurturing. And clever, oh so clever.
I knew, well before the end of the week, that this is how I want to spend my life. After looking for what seems like an age, and trying out lots of things, I've finally found my focus. I'm going to write.
I'll take small steps (there are after all mortgages to be paid!) but I already know what the first of those will be. Just the thought of it makes me feel both excited and tranquil [and if I'd been reading this out during a class last week I'd be in trouble for using abstract words!]
It certainly wasn't all work; and even the work felt like play. There was sightseeing, shopping (I was very good given my '100 day don't buy anything I don't really need challenge'), and I took a lot of photos of food. And I mean a lot!
A cooking class at the Casa Luna cooking school was a real non-writing highlight. I'll do a separate post about that.
I won't go on too much more about my wonderful week, but if you're interested in doing something like this, feel free to email me and I can give you the low down :)
all photos: a tranquil townhouse
p.s. And guess what? I didn't buy a buddha, not even a little one :)

You're a deep forest.

Yesterday we spent the day at Montseny, and Laia took some beautiful pictures of me in this wonderful place.

You may ask what we were doing there, right? But I cannot tell you much about by now... only that we ate sushi and Arashi used her lovely colors...

But I must say that it was great and like a fairy dream...

Sabtu:
1- Brunch kat Mamak Asiba - kedai mamak feberet kami laki bini pasal kuah kari dia punyer lerr pekat (last time I used to hate curry.. can you ever believe it.. hehe).. makan nasi kandaq... aku amek kari kambing.. sedhapnyerr layan.. =p~
2- Mr Hubby g setelkan kete dia yang overheat kat bengkel
3- Aku start masak for picnic - Lasagna ngn Tempura Prawn. End up kena masak sengsorang juga sebab Mr Hubby tak abess2 lagi setelkan kete. Lepas setel keta, dia layan hindustan plak.. huhu

Ahad:
1- Breakfast makan lasagna semalam sebab buat banyak giler.. hehe then semalam makan tak banyak pasal dah kenyang pekena nasi kandaq
2- Keluar dalam pukul 10 pagi ke Summit, semangat giler nak dermakan darah nie. Kuar lambat sebab merata rumah carik buku donor tak jumpe. Aku punya nasib baik last2 jumpe, Mr Hubby terpakse buat buku baru sebab xjumpe buku dia. Arrive kat summit, pusing punyer pusing cari booth derma darah. Aku tao pasal blood donation nie pun sebab semak laman web Pusat Darah Negara. Kira penat jugalah berpusing akhirnya kami jumper. Alhamdulillah orang tak ramai. 1st - Form; 2nd- Weight; 3rd- BloodType; 4th- blood pressure; 5th- Verified; 6th- proceed to donater chair cum bed. Yg lawaknya, dorang boleh switch borang aku n mr hubby masa ambil berat, so waktu kaunter amek blood pressure, dia terkejut tengok nama kat form aku, baru perasan borang tertukar, kelam-kabut tukar balik dan betulkan info.. hehe.... last skali dapatla biscuit, folic asic, iron tablet, dan air 100Plus satu tin.
