Dreaming???

Ever dream about something for so long, that when it finally comes true you keep having to remind yourself that this is real...this is actually HAPPENING?!?!?! That's how Tera and I have been feeling the past few days. Life has been so crazy since we got back from Colorado...busy every moment with work, and then so occupied with thinking and praying for Laiel. I think we lost sight of the bigger picture for a bit as we concentrated on "doing the next thing". Then suddenly "the next thing" was packing for a trip. And then we were on the west coast...for a night. The next thing we knew, we were heading even farther west...and all the flight attendants wore flowered dresses or shirts and the women had flowers in their hair. And we were drinking Pass-o-guava juice as we flew far above the clouds over miles and miles of water. Pacific Ocean water....

Leaving San Jose early on a foggy morning.

Soon we were high above the fog...into the sunshine.

We landed safely on Oahu, picked up our red Dodge Nitro rental car, and headed for Waikiki. Our room is amazing. We are nine stories up - above the coconut trees - and right across the street from the ocean. I can hear the waves rolling onto the shore as I sit here and type.
The view from inside our room.
Tera, enjoying the sunset from our balcony.

Sunset off Waikiki
Down on the beach for our first Hawaiian sunset in almost 30 years.
There are lots of things I remember about Hawaii from when I lived here years ago. I've never stopped missing the fragrant plumeria flowers, and couldn't wait to find one. As lovely as I remember!
There was a concert going on across the street on the beach the night we got here...Makana played some incredible slack key guitar and sang some songs about Hawaii.
This is the view from the door of our room. Diamond Head looms above the Honolulu Zoo across the street to the north.

I don't know...maybe it is all just a dream. If it is...don't wake us up just yet!!!
