Welcome Cody!
Okay, so I am officially crazy. We have another puppy. So here's the story.
Last night I was sitting at the computer and started hearing this yelping sound from outside. The cat and Denali were running towards to window to see what it was, so I came behind them with a flashlight.
After looking around for a few seconds, I saw a little puppy run across the driveway. So I ran out the door and started calling for it. It came up to the other side of the house and started running onto our porch. Then I heard this thump, so I thought it had fallen off of our deck (there is about a 6 foot drop to the ground). So I started freaking out that it had fallen and broken it's neck or something. I heard the yelping again, so I ran down the porch to call it back up. It finally made it's way back up and I fed it some of the dog's food. Then it ran around the house again and was sitting in the middle of the driveway. David was about to get home from Cincinnati so I didn't want him running over it with the Jeep when he came up the driveway. So i grabbed a towel and picked it up and wrapped it in the towel. He fell asleep almost as soon as I did that. It had rained most of the day so he was very wet and cold. When David got home he got Caspian's old crate and we put him in it for the night on the porch, with the intention of taking him to the shelter this morning.
David got on the shelter's web-site to see when they were open and I asked him to see if they killed the animals or not after a certain period of time. It said that they did, so I started crying because I didn't want them to kill him if something happened. David held me and then he sighed and said "Fine, we can keep him!" So welcome little Cody to the family. David took him to the vet this morning to make sure he was healthy before we brought him in the house and let Caspian and Denali around him. He just has round worms, so we are treating him for that.
So now you can all say I am officially crazy!
