Traditions...

Ever since Madeleine was a little girl, she loved to help me put together place cards for each holiday.  

This year was no exception.  

She browsed through the hobby shop and this time she chose everything herself.  

For some reason, we are attached to our place cards.  

I keep them all in a bag together and enjoy pulling them out from time to time.  

They seem to capture the entire history of that holiday time.   I remember who was there, where we lived, what dishes I prepared.  

Here is this year's creation, a creation entirely of my daughter's imagination...
